Seeking Jobs

Many Good Old Boat subscribers (who happen to be our friends and fellow sailors) have had their jobs and careers run aground as the economy has contracted. The Good Old Boat crew would like to help. The Job Seekers list on this page is a service available to our subscribers and members of their immediate families, at no cost. There is no charge to employers who use these ads to find an employee and no charge to a job seeker for posting an ad or successfully finding work through this service.

Why hire someone from here?

Someone who owns and maintains a sailboat is someone who has an eye for detail, is willing to work hard, and knows how to meet deadlines and budgets. He or she is resourceful and creative. We have found our readers to be much more honest than the rest of the population. We've seldom had a bad check from or been taken advantage of by any reader in more than 12 years in business. This is not just our experience. Any sailor will tell you the people you meet at the dock and at anchor are salt-of-the earth people you can trust with your wallet and your car keys. This is the sort of person every business needs! So please rank our readers highly in your evaluation. We don't think you'll be disappointed.

Why Are We Doing This?

We admit to a bit of self-interest here. We hate to see any of our subscribers "between jobs" because an employed sailor is more likely to keep his subscription going. So please do yourself a favor and do us one too. If you keep one of our very resourceful, skilled, and principled sailors employed, we won't lose a reader.

Architectural Intern

Hello, My name is Jason Kite. I am seeking a position as an Architectural Intern. For quality experience, I would consider relocating short-term, or as the project requires. I have a professional degree in architecture and approximately 2 years experience as an intern. During this time I have worked on renovations (one historic), residential, commercial, and institutional projects. During these various projects I have documented building and site conditions, produced construction documents, researched code and product specifications. I am also comfortable with schematic design, exploring ideas through hand and computer based illustration, and 3d modeling. Previous to my education and experience in architecture I was a graphic designer and illustrator for over six years. This has always been valuable for marketing items such as presentations, proposals, and competition entries. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Management - bookkeeping

At my age I am looking for fun. Some place near the water, hopefully having to do with boating. I'd love to run a marina, or maybe a shop in Lauderdale, or the keys. Currently I run a factory and have for many years. I have also been an accountant running two car dealerships books. And I have been in sales.
